Notes On Manifestation
Notes from along the journey:
What Is Manifestation and How Do I Do It?
What do you truly desire in your life? Are you happy? Are you fulfilled? Have you ever even asked yourself these questions or do you just flow with the pace of life accepting what is put before you? If you aren’t happy, if you are not feeling fulfilled, know that you can be!
You have likely harnessed the power of manifestation in your life before if you were consciously aware of it or not. But to truly manifest something, like your deepest heart’s desire, is like adding all the ingredients to a recipe. It is a combination of: the power of your mind in your thoughts (conscious and subconscious), imagination, feelings, spirit and the quantum field all working together in a perfect blend to bring something to fruition in your life. When you manifest, you use all of these ingredients in perfect measure, each work together to essentially turn your dreams into reality.

What Do People Commonly Want To Manifest In Their Lives?
Well, you can manifest really anything you can imagine! But some common themes revolve around: money, abundance, financial freedom, creativity, a dream career, success, relationships, finding a partner or soulmate, intimacy, healing, health and well-being.

My Story: Why did I Start the New Moon Manifestation Class?
I can begin to answer this by telling my story. I was a litigation attorney who was feeling unfulfilled in my career but I didn’t know what the next step was or what I truly wanted to do with my life. All I knew is that I wanted to do something more creative. I knew there had to be something more to my life. I was a lawyer, in Chicago, feeling stuck, not creative. My career didn’t feel like it was in alignment with who I really am as a person. All those years of grinding it out at a job that brought me no fulfillment, but not knowing what else to do? I felt hopeless, trapped in a situation I knew I didn’t want but didn’t know how or where to get out? It was like torture going to work everyday. I worked with career coaches, went on interviews and nothing panned out? Brutal. I would come home from work and lay facedown on my bed and sob. Sob my eyes out. I felt hopeless until one day I found a clue. One small breadcrumb that I followed.
I traveled a lot for my job, so while on a work trip on the plane, I looked down into my bag and saw it was full of fashion magazines. At that exact moment, I knew. I had an “a-ha” moment that I loved fashion so why not do that? Investigate? How can you do it? I could not wait to get to my hotel room and learn more about it. I looked into going back to school to study fashion. I left my unfulfilling, soulless legal practice and turned my life around. I became a student again! What a trip. I had a B.A., M.A. and J.D. and I was going back to school. Again. I turned my career around, went back to school to study fashion because I didn’t even know what I wanted to do specifically, but I knew I was passionate about fashion.
Moral of the story is when you don’t know what to do, where to turn or where to start, follow your passions. What lights you up inside? What would you love to do every day? What would make you jump out of bed each morning excited for the promise of a new day? Follow the signs; be open to possibilities. Ask questions. Ask for guidance. Pray or set intentions. Allow. The Multiverse will answer. Even if you don’t have ALL of the answers, follow the bread crumbs no matter how big or how miniscule. This is why I started my class. I want to help you achieve the life of your dreams.

Start Out Small
You have asked the questions: what do I truly want? You have asked yourself, am I truly happy? What can I change? What am I passionate about? You are now ready to flex your manifestation muscles! I suggest starting with a small goal first (free dinner, or a small item you may want) before going after the big goal of manifesting: the perfect partner or dream job. If you start with something small, you are less attached to the outcome. You will be more patient and you are more likely to just allow it to come to you. Pick something you still want and allow. Practice makes perfect!
Here is a personal example: I wanted to start running again, to get back into shape. I used to run a lot! I love the intensity of running but I fell out of practice. I needed my endurance back but couldn’t seem to get there. So I chose this as a small manifestation to work toward. I would sit and quiet my mind in meditation and visualize running. Visualizing is easy for me, because I am a very visual person. I also ‘sensualized’ what it feels like to run because that is also a key component. The feeling element is extremely important and allow your imagination to run wild! So during visualization I saw myself running in my mind’s eye, like a movie playing out before me, the scenery changing around me, and what I could see while on a run. In addition, I also felt the emotions of what it feels like to run: sweat on my brow, muscles working, deep respirations and the endorphins you feel on a run. I went to this place after meditation each day for a week or two until one day, while walking the dog at a quick pace, guess what? I started running! I wasn’t even trying, it just happened. It was a small goal and it snuck up on me when I least expected it. I actually didn’t even realize it at first, but once I realized what was happening, tears came to my eyes and the hairs stood up on the back of my neck! I asked and the Multiverse answered! So pick something small and once you gain experience and confidence in manifestation, flex your manifestation muscles, to move on to your long term, big league goals.

More Techniques and Tools
Taking this a step further, I manifested a deeper desire: my dream to live near the ocean. I spent my life living deep in cities and metropolitan areas but my heart wanted to live at the ocean. I wanted to be close to the beach! Even if only for a little while, just to experience it. So after graduating from fashion school, moving to Brooklyn and living there for a year, when a potential job opportunity near the beach presented itself, I knew I could get it. I saw this as an opportunity ripe for manifesting. I put my mind, thoughts, feelings, emotions and efforts into living at the beach. I would listen to ocean waves while sitting on the train on the way to work. I would close my eyes and visualize along with the sounds in my headphones of being at the beach. I felt the water lapping at my feet. I could see the sunrise and sunset in my mind’s eye. I could smell the salty air. I felt happy and proud that I was standing there in the sand. And guess what happened? I got the job, packed up my apartment in Brooklyn, loaded the dog into the car and moved to the beach!
Remember To Also Take Steps Within Your Physical Reality
It is not all just visualization; or your imagination when you step onto the quantum field. It is also important to take physical steps toward what it is you want. I used these techniques along with tangible physical actions of applying for the job, followed up, sent emails and did everything I could to get to the ocean. That is just one example of how combining thoughts, emotions, imagination, and using your five senses to step onto the quantum field come together to manifest your goals.

Be Open To the Process
Also don’t be too attached to the process, when manifesting, the Multiverse may take you on a journey you never imagined. For me, the ultimate goal was to live in in California and specifically LA. Even as a litigation attorney living in Chicago, without a clue as to what I wanted to do with my life, I knew I wanted to live in California. Although it took me several years to get to LA, I never lost the faith. I got to LA by way of the East Coast, with life of several years at the beach before I made it to my goal of LA.
If you told me when I was in Chicago wishing I lived in LA --that I would YES- one day ultimately live in LA, but to get there I would move through the East Coast, I would have called you crazy. But I did. Never doubt the process. Have faith, hold true to your goal, trust the process because you never know the route you may take to get there.

Manifesting 101
There are several key components you need to start with.
1. Time: you have to set the time aside each day to put the work in and make it a practice. It requires repetition.
2. Visualize your desired outcome: go to a quiet place in your mind and use your five senses to imagine and see, hear, feel, smell and taste your manifestation coming to fruition before your very eyes. (What if you can’t even do that?) Some people find it hard to do get to a quiet place: so start with the breath! Just concentrate on the breath to quiet your mind. You can also use your headphones to listen to whatever you need to help you get to that quiet place.
Visualizing and ‘Sensualizing’
By visualizing and ‘sensualizing’, you are using the power of your imagination and your five senses to trick your brain and the Multiverse into providing what it is you want. Think of it this way, your mind doesn’t know the difference between what is real and what is not. Your mind doesn’t know the difference when you think of the word ‘apple’ or when you actually see an ‘apple’. The same part of your brain lights up either way! This is similar to what happens when you visualize.
Have trouble visualizing? This is what my New Moon manifestation class is all about. My class utilizes sound technology and guided visualization to subdue our overthinking and over analyzing brains and to get clear on what it is we really want.

When to Focus on Manifesting?
Well anytime really, but we can take our cues from the movement of the planets. There are times when we can use astrology to our benefit to manifest. Specifically, you can use your own astrological energy (according to your birth chart) or harness the energy of the planets generally for more opportune times of the month like: during the New Moon.
The New Moon each month is an astrologically ripe or auspicious time for setting intentions as the energy is lower when compared to a Full Moon when the energy is vibrant and higher. As the astrological counterpoint to Full Moons, New Moons occur when the sun does not illuminate the moon from our perspective on Earth. Think of a New Moon as a dark canvas or clean slate for intention setting.
New Moons mark the end of the previous lunation but also the start of a new 28-day lunar cycle. We can utilize this lower energy time to pause and ponder as to what it is we really do want. Or it can allow us the time to reflect on the themes of the past lunar cycles that may have played out for us.
Relate this idea to a garden: there are naturally better times to plant seeds, so that the seeds have a better chance to grow. If our life is the garden, we use the New Moon as a time to plant and sow the seeds to reap the benefits later. New Moons represent hopes, dreams and possibilities. But on the reflective side: you can also question old habits, behaviors, and beliefs as you search for new and inventive ways to make progress. New Moons can open doorways and illuminate new opportunities to our path.
Also, depending on where New Moons fall astrologically, each month can also thematically represent their astrological signs. Like a Scorpio New Moon can feel intense as it is a fixed water sign and could represent Scorpio themes like sex, death, birth and transformation, hidden desires or our shadow side. A Virgo New Moon could be associated with themes of: ritual, detail and specificity. A New Moon in Capricorn could relate to themes of: professional success, structure, pragmatism, or a strong work ethic. You get the idea.

What to expect during a New Moon Manifestation Class?
We start the class by identifying your desired manifestation. We meditate and journal to get clear on our intentions. I then take us on a sound journey with vibratory instruments to get “out of our heads”. The gong for example produces tonal qualities that subdue the mind. After about 90 seconds, the brain starts to shut off. That is where the real magic then happens. The negative mental chatter stops, the doubt, over-thinking and over-analyzing stops. This sound journey will quiet the mind and now the energy can flow. At that point, through a guided visualization, your inner guidance comes through. You can visualize and ‘sensualize’ your manifestation with conscious clarity!
Have an Attitude of Gratitude
So you are doing the work of visualizing each day but what can you do in the meantime? One way of getting into vibratory alignment with your manifestation is to have an Attitude of Gratitude. While the Multiverse is busy bringing you the persons, places and things related to your manifestation, you can practice an attitude of gratitude because gratitude is one of the pathways to abundance. How to Start? Start a small gratitude journal of listing five things you are grateful for each day. Maybe before you go to bed or when you wake up. No matter how big or small. Even if it is not related to your desired manifestation. Here are some examples you can use from day to day. I am grateful for:
Affirmations
Affirmations are another way to get clear and call in your desired manifestations. I write notecards, or notes to myself and post them in places with high visibility like the bathroom mirror. You can see it at least twice a day. Or I post them by the door so I can see them on the way in or out of the house as a reminder. Write your affirmations in a positive light vs. what you don’t want. Get away from negative thoughts and start phrasing what it is you do want!
“I want to get out of this terrible relationship.” Try instead: “My new partner is coming” or even better: “I am grateful for this partner who totally loves and understands me.” Phrase your affirmations in the present and to have gratitude for something that has already occurred then the Multiverse has no choice but to deliver because it is as if it has already happened.
Allow
If you do the work, the Multiverse will work for you. It will respond, so be open to the signs. Be open to the fact that your desired outcome may come to you in a way you didn’t think fathomable. Half of the battle is to open yourself to receive, allow and recognize opportunities and possibilities. Your desired manifestation may come in a way you never fathomed. Mine did. I never thought I would have gotten to Los Angeles in the way that it played out, but it did. I am grateful for it.

- My dog, who does something to make me laugh every day. I take life a lot less seriously when he is around. Thank you!
- My friends and family whom I can call upon, day or night and who know me inside out.
- The stranger who passed me walking today but smiled and said, “Good Morning.”

Join Me!
So to sum it up: for the past ten years, at first, I felt very lost in my life but I changed course and began to build the life I wanted. I knew I wanted to do something more creative. I knew I wanted to live in California. I set intentions, visualized, wrote affirmations, and followed my passion. I was open to the signs, allowed and followed the breadcrumbs and clues that led me to fashion school, New York and now LA. I am happy and fulfilled in my career and life! In each instance, the undercurrent was to be aware and open. Follow the small signs when presented. Allow, trust and hold the faith but also have gratitude and appreciation for where you are currently standing. I hope you will one day join me in class. Let’s go on a journey together to make your deepest dreams a reality!
